the team

mears.jpgNorman Kerr has been involved in major development projects for over 30 years. His experience includes development of over 20 million square feet totaling $900 million in ten cities nationwide. Successfully completed projects include retail/commercial/mixed-use developments, casinos, hotels and major residential properties. Some projects of interest include the IDS office tower in Minneapolis, the Grand Ole Opry Complex in Nashville, Tennesee, and Jubilee Casinos in Colorado.

Since 1974, Kerr has been a major player in the Twin Cities market and has been involved in over 2500 housing units and nearly one million square feet of office and retail space. He has owned properties including the Soo Line building, the Sheraton Ritz Hotel, the Pick Nicollet Hotel and the Curtis Hotel. He has worked on extensive renovations including the former Times Building (now the Marquette), the buildings that currently house Carmichael Lynch and Metropolitan State University as well as several buildings in the Minneapolis downtown core and warehouse district.

David Shea, founder and principal of Minneapolis-based Shea, Inc., has played an influential role in the development of major architectural designs in the Twin Cities, throughout the country and abroad. Establishing Shea, Inc., in 1978, David set out to create his own business that would concentrate on meeting clients' business needs through design - integrating a seamless combination of architecture, interior design and marketing communications. David is a registered architect in over 40 states and an active member of the Twin Cities community. David serves as the principal creative director for development of nearly 50 environments each year, and has garnered national recognition for his combination of creativity and business efficiency. Under his leadership, Shea has been consistently named one of the top design firms in the country.

The team of Norman Kerr and David Shea has renovated and rebuilt over five million square feet of historic buildings during the last 25 years and arguably has more experience than anyone else in the Twin Cities area. The Mears Park Centre conversion would be a welcome addition to their more than 60 years of combined experience.
